What To Consider For Your Charlotte Engagement Photos
Jun 15, 2019 | By: Fusion Photography
Mother Nature has us feeling #blessed and whether you're getting engagement photos done or snapping a selfie with some besties at brunch, the Queen City has the best lighting right now (hello, sunshine). If you're getting ready for a Charlotte engagement photo shoot, here are some things to consider.
Props and Costumes
Okay, so we know this isn't Shakespeare, but your engagement session is still a bit of a production, ya'll. Planning your looks out helps build an outline for the day. Maybe you start in your Panthers gear and end in a glam gown. You and your SO will want to coordinate outfits so that even if matching isn't your thing, you're at least not clashing. We get that not everyone gets pumped to choose what to wear for something like this but it's something we can discuss ahead of time and we love helping our clients create a vision for the shoot. As for props, think anything you want to help tell your love story. Maybe you love game nights and we work in some board games (or we pose you on a giant chess board...we're loving the possibilities). While we don't think of them as props, including your four-legged fur baby is something to consider as well.
Location Style and Timing
Okay, so we've blogged about some of our favorite spots around Charlotte for engagement photos but what we mean here is vibe. The Queen City has a lot of different vibes happening. You can find some really gorgeous nature scenes or you can embrace an Uptown feel. And when you're picking locations, you'll want to consider time of day. If you want photos at Fahrenheit, let's plan to catch the sunset or the city lit up at dark. It's not just about picking the right locations to help tell your story, it's also about maximizing those locations. For example, 10 am in Uptown on a Tuesday allows us to get shots of you and your boo without a lot of waiting for people to pass out of the shot. If your engagement shoot is on a Saturday or Sunday, it takes a bit more strategy (but we can handle it) so we want to make sure we've got a plan of attack for the day!
At Fusion, we work hard to give you some truly unique shots. There are of course the classic styles that we all want to have in our album but when you are looking for an engagement and wedding photographer, we recommend reviewing their portfolio (read: Instagram) to see their style. We've had clients that followed us online for years before they even got engaged and so when their SO popped the question, they knew our style and felt we were the right fit. Photography isn't one size fits all. There are different styles and different schools of thought. Making sure your photographer is able to bring your vision to life is part of the process.
Guess what? Having a consultation is free and we want to make sure we'd be a good fit for you. Give us a call. Let's get coffee and talk about your engagement photos!
